Project Description
Development of an interactive Excel dashboard designed to analyze an organization’s sales over a given period, broken down by year and month. The project integrates information from multiple sources to provide a consolidated and dynamic view of commercial performance, facilitating data-driven strategic decision-making.
The dashboard allows users to monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and analyze sales trends from different perspectives: temporal, geographic, and by customer.
Challenge The organization’s sales data was scattered across multiple monthly and/or annual files, with variations in structure, format, and data quality. This resulted in:
- Difficulty consolidating the data efficiently.
- Inconsistencies in reports across periods.
- Limited visibility into business performance.
- Manual and error-prone processes.
Additionally, there was no centralized tool that allowed for the simultaneous analysis of key metrics such as revenue, sales volume, and customer behavior.
Implemented Solution
A dashboard was designed and implemented in Excel using Power Query for data integration and transformation, and modeling and visualization tools for building the dashboard. The main actions included:
- Automated consolidation of two years’ worth of sales files via a folder connection.
- Standardization of structures and data cleansing.
